A Traditional Hotel Enters a New Chapter

After 119 years of family ownership, Hotel Post-Faber in Crailsheim is entering a new era. Owner Stefanie Weeber sold the property on September 28, 2025. The buyer is the Dahlheim Real Estate Group from Düsseldorf, which will lease the building on a long-term basis to the Dormero Hotel Group. Closing of the transaction is scheduled for May 1, 2026.

The End of a Family Legacy

The roots of the hotel date back to the 19th century, when the property served as a coaching inn along the Stuttgart-Nuremberg route. The Weeber family acquired the hotel in 1906. Following its destruction during the war, the building was reconstructed in 1949 and expanded in the late 1970s.

Located on Lange Straße in the heart of Crailsheim, Hotel Post-Faber offers 57 guest rooms and has been a well-established part of the city's social and business life for decades.

"As an independent, family-run hotel, it became increasingly difficult to recruit and retain qualified staff in sufficient numbers. As a result, we had to significantly scale back our restaurant operations in recent years," says owner Stefanie Weeber. "With Dormero, I have found a buyer who will preserve the character of the hotel while ensuring its long-term future."

Dormero Takes Over Operations

Dormero is one of Germany's fastest-growing hotel groups. The company currently operates 57 hotels and two hostels across six European countries. Most recently, Dormero acquired two further traditional hotels in the region: Hotel Scholl in Schwäbisch Hall and Hotel Goldhahn in Aalen.

Dormero is backed by the Wöhrl entrepreneurial family from Nuremberg, widely known for its retail business. The group combines professional management structures with a commitment to preserving the individuality and identity of each property.

A Professionally Managed Sale Process

At the end of 2024, Stefanie Weeber engaged Dr. Patrick Stiller of STILLER ADVISORS, a Crailsheim-based M&A advisory firm specializing in company sales and acquisitions, to manage the transaction process.

"The key challenge was to find an investor who would respect the identity of the hotel while having the resources and commitment to successfully develop it for the future," says Dr. Patrick Stiller. "With Dormero, we were able to achieve exactly this balance."

The transaction was further supported by Christoph Winkler (Prof. Burr & Partner, Heilbronn) on legal matters and Timo Röcker (Röcker + Partner, Crailsheim) on tax matters.
